Second only
to the Eiffel Tower Mont Saint Michel, Normandy, is reported to be
the largest holiday attraction within France. Classified by
UNESCO Le Mont Saint Michel became a world heritage site in
1979 and Le Mont Saint Michel now welcomes over 3 million visitors per year.
The only charges are for car parking and entrance to the Abbey.

The Abbey at Mont Saint Michel has separate opening/closing times and charges (see below)
HIGH TIDES AT MONT SAINT MICHEL- Re-known for massive high tides; the highest tides in continental Europe!
If you are wandering on the sands these can be very dangerous if you are not aware of them.
Signs will display at Mont Saint Michel advising the actual times.
As an indication the highest tides take place 36 to 48 hours after the full and new moons.
Spring tides can be phenomenal and well worth watching, the sea can recede by up to 15 kilometres and rush back very quickly.
PARKING AT MONT SAINT MICHEL- Motorcycles 1 euro per day / Cars 4 euros per day
MONT SAINT MICHEL ABBEY - The abbey is open every day
except the 1st of January, the 1st of May and the 25th of
December.
- from 2 May to 31 August : 9am to 7 pm, last admission at 6 pm
- from 1 September to 30 April : 9.30 am to 6pm, last admission
at 5 pm.
- On the 24th & 31st of December : last
entrance at 4 pm & closing time at 5pm.
